Odisha LTR Teacher Aspirants Continue 8‑Day Protest Over Merit List Delay
Bhubaneswar, Feb 16: The protest by Leave Training Reserve (LTR) teacher aspirants in Odisha has entered its eighth consecutive day outside the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) office in Bhubaneswar.
Over a thousand candidates have joined the sit‑in, demanding the immediate release of the merit list for high school teacher recruitment.
The recruitment drive, initiated in 2023, aimed to fill 6,025 teaching posts across Arts, Odia, Hindi, and Sanskrit subjects. Certificate verification began on January 22, 2026, and has since been completed.
However, the absence of a published merit list has triggered widespread frustration among aspirants.
Protesters allege that the delay reflects a lack of transparency and accountability in the recruitment process.
They insist the agitation will continue until OSSC issues an official statement clarifying the timeline for results.
The demonstration underscores growing concerns over bureaucratic delays in public sector hiring and highlights the urgent need for efficiency in Odisha’s education recruitment system.
