Bhubaneswar, Dec 24: Following two days of rain triggered by a low-pressure system, Odisha is expected to experience a drop in night temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the coming days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The midday bulletin indicated that minimum temperatures would remain steady over the next 48 hours but are likely to decrease gradually by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the subsequent three days.
On Tuesday, light to moderate rainfall is forecasted in parts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, and Dhenkanal. Shallow to moderate fog may occur in Keonjhar.
For December 25, light rain could continue in areas such as Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur, as the well-marked low-pressure system over the southwest Bay of Bengal weakens.
G Udayagiri in Kandhamal recorded the lowest temperature at 10.6°C in the last 24 hours, followed by Koraput at 12°C. Keonjhar experienced fog, while Jajpur, Koraput, and Gajapati received the heaviest rainfall.
