Odisha Launches Caravan Tourism Phase 2 from Dhauli | Eco & Adventure Travel
Bhubaneswar: Odisha has taken another step toward strengthening its tourism sector with the launch of the second phase of Caravan Tourism Service.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida flagged off three luxury caravans at Dhauli, marking a new chapter in eco-friendly and adventure travel across the state.
The caravans, introduced under the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme, are equipped with modern amenities including beds, kitchens, and washrooms, enabling travellers to explore destinations without depending on hotels.
Designed to attract young travellers, nature enthusiasts, and adventure seekers, the initiative will cover major tourism hotspots such as Hirakud, Debrigarh, Similipal, Chilika, Bhitarkanika, Satkosia, and Deomali.
Officials believe the service will boost eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and local economies while offering sustainable travel experiences.
The launch event witnessed participation from tourism officials, local leaders, representatives of Sand Pebbles Tours and Travels, self-help groups, and community members.
The government aims to position Odisha as a leading destination for cultural, eco, and adventure tourism through innovative initiatives like caravan travel.
