Odisha Human Rights Commission Welcomes Justice Pujahari for Second Term

Justice Satrughana Pujahari formally took charge as the Chairperson of the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on March 30, 2026.

This marks his second term at the helm of the Commission, underscoring the confidence placed in his leadership and commitment to safeguarding human rights in the state.

A former Judge of the Orissa High Court, Justice Pujahari, has held several key judicial and administrative positions.

His first tenure, beginning in February 2023, was notable for proactive measures to address human rights concerns, improve access to justice, and ensure timely intervention for vulnerable communities.

Upon resuming office, Justice Pujahari emphasised his vision of a responsive and accessible Commission.

He highlighted priorities such as strengthening grievance redressal mechanisms, expanding awareness campaigns, and safeguarding the interests of marginalised groups with fairness and transparency.

His reappointment is expected to reinforce the Commission’s role in upholding justice and human dignity across Odisha.
