Odisha H&UD Minister Stresses Transparency and Quality in Urban Development Projects
Bhubaneswar, Jan 1: Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra chaired a comprehensive review meeting on key urban development programmes, underscoring the importance of transparency, accountability, and quality in execution.
The meeting assessed the progress of flagship initiatives, including the Mukhyamantri Sahari Bikash Yojana (MSBY), Sahajog, and other civic infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening urban amenities and improving the quality of life across Odisha.
Dr Mahapatra placed special focus on the state-wide pothole clearance drive, directing officials and urban local bodies to complete repair works on time using durable engineering solutions.
He emphasised that road safety and smooth traffic movement must remain top priorities.
Highlighting citizen-centric governance, the Minister called for continuous field monitoring, strict quality control, effective coordination among implementing agencies, and prompt grievance redressal mechanisms.
Principal Secretary Smt. Usha Padhee, Director of Municipal Administration, Shri Arindam Dakua, and other senior officials presented detailed updates on programme implementation and outlined future action plans.
