Odisha H&UD Minister Reviews Urban Development Schemes, Warns Against Delays
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Minister Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra conducted a comprehensive review meeting at Kharavela Bhavan, focusing on flagship urban schemes and civic infrastructure.
The meeting assessed progress under Mukhyamantri Sahari Bikash Yojana, Sahari Samruddhi Yojana, and the Aahar scheme.
Officials presented detailed reports on solid and liquid waste management across all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), with the Minister stressing uniform implementation of waste collection, segregation, processing, and disposal.
Financial oversight was a key agenda, with discussions on budget utilisation, DPR approvals, and expenditure patterns.
Affordable housing projects, PMAY (Urban), rental housing, transit houses, and the Adarsh Gosala scheme were also reviewed.
Special attention was given to the 28 newly formed Notified Area Councils (NACs), where infrastructure gaps and service delivery challenges were highlighted.
Expressing dissatisfaction over delays in project execution, Dr. Mahapatra directed officials to accelerate pending works within 15 days, warning against negligence.
Senior officials, including Principal Secretary Usha Padhee, Director of Municipal Administration Arindam Dakua, Director of Housing Shubhanand Mahapatra, Shikha Bishwal, and Rabindra Sahu, attended the meeting.
