Odisha High Court Announces Winter Vacation from December 25

Cuttack, Dec 24: The Odisha High Court has officially declared its winter vacation beginning December 25, 2025. The last regular sitting of the court was held on Wednesday, December 24, with normal functioning scheduled to resume on January 5, 2026.

In a notification, the High Court announced that January 2, 2026, will be treated as an additional holiday. To compensate, the court will remain open on March 6, 2026, a Saturday.

A holiday bench comprising Justice Sabitri Rath and Justice M.S. Raman will sit on December 30, 2025, to hear urgent matters. Additionally, Justices Sabitri Rath, Aditya Kumar Mohapatra, and M.S. Raman will preside over single benches to dispose of pending cases.

Administrative offices of the court will remain functional between December 26 and 31, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Filing counters for new cases will operate between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM on working days.

For urgent matters, lawyers may submit memos via Dropbox at the Deputy Registrar (Judicial) office on December 29, 2025, between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

This arrangement ensures continuity of judicial services during the vacation period while balancing administrative efficiency.
