Odisha Health Minister Rallies NGOs to Boost Healthcare and Launch Women’s Wellness Campaign

In a decisive move to elevate healthcare standards across Odisha, Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling convened a strategic meeting with representatives from various Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) at Lok Seva Bhawan.

The discussion centred on enhancing grassroots healthcare delivery and aligning efforts with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s vision for accessible medical services.

A major highlight was the announcement of the upcoming “Healthy Women, Empowered Families” campaign, set to be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2025, from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh.

The initiative aims to improve health outcomes for women and girls, emphasising preventive care, awareness, and community engagement.

Dr. Mahaling urged NGOs to play an active role in implementing the campaign, stressing the importance of collaborative efforts to ensure its success.

Health Secretary Ashwathy S., NHM Mission Director Dr. Brunda D., and other officials participated in the meeting, while NGO representatives from various districts joined virtually.

This initiative marks a significant step in Odisha’s commitment to inclusive public health, with NGOs poised to be key drivers of change at the community level.
