Odisha Govt to Fast-Track Drinking Water & Mega Projects, Announces Investors’ Meet
Bhubaneswar: In a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg at Kharavela Bhavan, the Odisha government emphasised drinking water projects as its foremost priority.
Secretaries were directed to review facilities during field visits and ensure the timely completion of ongoing initiatives.
The meeting also focused on delayed mega projects, with departments instructed to propose new measures for inclusion in the upcoming budget.
Officials highlighted that only 50% of the current budget has been utilised so far, urging departments to accelerate expenditure before the end of January.
Revenue collection and pending legal amendments were also discussed, with a call for stronger monitoring mechanisms.
To streamline governance, district collectors will now hold monthly video conferences with secretaries on the 16th, while single-window meetings will take place on the third Tuesday of each month.
Groundwork review meetings will be conducted every Saturday.
In a bid to attract fresh investments, the government announced a two-day Investors’ Meet in Kolkata, to be attended by the Chief Minister, Industry Secretary, and Chief Secretary.
The initiative aims to showcase Odisha’s potential and secure new opportunities for industrial growth.
