Odisha Govt. sets target of 1.5 Lakh jobs in government Sector in five years

Bhubaneswar, Mar 18: The Odisha government has set a target of creating 1.5 lakh jobs in the government sector over the next five years, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Tuesday.
Majhi stated that after assuming office, the government held a high-level review meeting with the heads and senior officials of all selection agencies.
By the end of March, all departments have been instructed to identify vacant positions and expedite the recruitment process.
The Chief Minister emphasized that work is already underway in this direction, with a commitment to providing 65,000 jobs within the first two years. The overall target is to generate 1.5 lakh government jobs within five years.
Majhi made these remarks while attending the recruitment fair, where he distributed appointment letters to 812 newly recruited employees across five departments.
According to official sources, appointment letters were issued to 442 AYUSH Assistants in the Directorate of Health Department,65 Soil Extension Officers and 33 Assistant Horticulture Officers in the Agriculture Department,48 Management Trainees in the Power Department,12 Junior Assistants and 14 Amins in the Water Resources Department,189 Junior Mine Officers and 9 Junior Assistants in the Steel and Mines Department
Addressing the recruits, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of skilled and efficient human resources in ensuring an effective and responsive administration.
He stressed that competent personnel keep the government system active and ensure the timely delivery of essential services. Recognizing this necessity, the government has been actively recruiting suitable candidates for various departments.
Majhi noted that the government has organized seven recruitment fairs in the past nine months, providing more than 24,000 jobs in various departments. In the eighth phase, 812 officers and employees from five departments are being recruited.
“So far, more than 25,000 jobs have been provided through eight recruitment fairs,” the Chief Minister added.
He also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone for the Central Yoga and Naturopathy Research Institute at Gothapatna, near Bhubaneswar. This institute, the Chief Minister said aims to promote naturopathy and yoga in Odisha.
“Our goal is to establish Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in all panchayats across the state, ” he said adding that a budget of Rs. 500 crore has been allocated for this initiative this year.
Additionally, the Central Government has decided to establish a National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, as well as the All India Institute of Speech and Hearing in Odisha.
These institutions,Majhi said, will contribute to Odisha’s leadership in the healthcare sector. (UNI)
