Bhubaneswar, June 7, (OT Webdesk)– In a major housing development initiative, the Odisha government has announced that PM Awas Yojana beneficiaries will receive two tractor loads of free sand for home construction.
Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari confirmed the move, stating that permits will soon be issued, with the allocation draft already prepared. This scheme is expected to significantly reduce construction costs for those building homes under the government-funded project.
Additionally, to combat illegal sand mining, the authorities have decided to replace highway trucks with alternative transportation methods. This step is aimed at regulating sand extraction while ensuring a steady supply for the housing program.
The initiative highlights the government’s commitment to streamlining housing development, providing essential resources, and enforcing responsible environmental practices. Beneficiaries will soon receive details on permit applications and distribution logistics.
