Odisha Govt Reschedules School Reopening to June 20 for Better Preparedness
Bhubaneswar(OT Webdesk): In a fresh directive issued by the Odisha School and Mass Education Department, all government and private schools across the state will now reopen on June 20, pushing the earlier reopening date by two days.
The rescheduling—originally set for June 18—was communicated through an official letter to district education officers to ensure thorough academic and logistical readiness post-summer vacation.
Officials cited the additional days as critical for implementing preventive measures, organising classrooms, and ensuring a smooth transition for returning students.
“Student well-being and academic continuity are our priorities,” stated a department spokesperson. “This extra time allows educators to fully prepare learning environments and support systems.”
Parents, educators, and school administrations have welcomed the decision as a proactive step toward easing the resumption process after the long summer break.
District education authorities have been asked to monitor preparations closely and provide timely updates to ensure schools are fully functional by June 20.
