Odisha Govt Releases SOP for Mukhyamantri Medhabi Chhatra Protshana Yojana 2024–25

The Odisha Government has unveiled the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Mukhyamantri Medhabi Chhatra Protshana Yojana for the 2024–25 academic year, streamlining scholarship disbursement and tightening eligibility norms.

According to the SOP, scholarships will be transferred directly to beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

Students shifting to new institutions will not be eligible for the scholarship in their first year, but may apply from the second year, provided quota availability.

The guidelines also mandate submission of academic records, entrance exam marksheets, or transcripts. Students outside Odisha or enrolled in non‑SAMS institutions must upload their documents via DigiLocker.

Age restrictions have been clearly defined: candidates above 25 years are ineligible for undergraduate courses, while those above 30 years cannot apply for postgraduate, technical, or professional courses.

Oversight will be ensured by a committee headed by the District Collector, which will finalise beneficiary lists and verify compliance.

Institutions seeking inclusion under the State Scholarship Portal must formally request approval from the Higher Education Department via email.

This move is expected to bring transparency, efficiency, and accountability to Odisha’s scholarship framework, benefitting thousands of meritorious students across the state.
