Odisha Govt Reassures Citizens on Fuel and Cooking Gas Supply Amid Global Concerns

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has assured citizens that there is no shortage of LPG, petrol, or diesel in the state despite global tensions in the Middle East.

Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra chaired a high-level review meeting at Lokseva Bhavan with senior officials, district collectors, and representatives from major oil companies, including IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, Reliance, and GAIL.

District Collectors have been directed to submit daily reports on fuel and gas availability, while marketing officers will monitor supply to critical institutions such as SCB Medical College and educational centres.

The Minister urged the public to remain calm and avoid panic buying, stressing that strict action will be taken against hoarding and black marketing.

Departmental officers have been deployed to conduct raids and enforce legal measures against violators.

The government is also maintaining detailed records of daily fuel requirements and availability to ensure smooth distribution across the state.
