Odisha Govt Plans Dedicated Ambulance Corridor from Khandagiri to AIIMS Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Dec 18: In a significant step toward strengthening emergency healthcare infrastructure, the Odisha government has announced the construction of a dedicated ambulance corridor from Khandagiri to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan revealed the decision during a review meeting of the Works Department.

The project will include a three‑lane service road stretching from Khandagiri to Kalinganagar, with one lane reserved exclusively for ambulances.

Officials emphasised that the corridor is designed to reduce delays in patient transport and ensure faster medical access during emergencies.

AIIMS Bhubaneswar, which handles a large number of critical cases daily, is expected to benefit significantly from the improved connectivity.

By dedicating a lane solely for ambulances, authorities aim to save precious time and lives, reinforcing Bhubaneswar’s position as a hub for advanced healthcare services.
