Odisha Govt Notifies 11 New ADJ Courts to Accelerate Justice Delivery

(OT Webdesk)In a major push towards judicial reform, the Odisha government has announced the establishment of 11 new Additional District Judge (ADJ) courts across the state.

The notification, issued by the Law Department on August 4, 2025, aims to streamline legal proceedings and reduce case backlogs.

Three of the new courts—designated as ADJ (Vigilance)—will be set up in Puri, Nayagarh, and Kendrapara to handle vigilance-related cases, enhancing transparency and accountability in governance.

The remaining eight ADJ courts will be located in Pipili (Puri), Ranpur (Nayagarh), Banapur (Khordha), Basudevpur (Bhadrak), Talcher (Angul), Rajgangpur (Sundargarh), Banki (Cuttack), and G. Udayagiri (Kandhamal).

These courts will address a wide range of civil and criminal matters, easing the burden on existing judicial infrastructure and ensuring faster resolution of cases.

This move is part of the state’s broader commitment to judicial efficiency and improved access to justice for citizens across Odisha.
