Odisha Govt Fixes New Motor Cab Fare Rates | Travel Allowance Revision 2026

Bhubaneswar: The Commerce and Transport Department of Odisha has issued a fresh order revising fare rates for motor cabs and three‑wheelers, effective February 5, 2026.

The move aims to streamline travel allowance claims for government officials while ensuring transparency and accountability in reimbursement processes.

According to the notification, the revised fares are applicable only for official travel reimbursement and not for public transport charges. The new structure sets minimum fares and per-kilometre rates across categories:

  • E‑rickshaw/Battery Rickshaw: Rs 8 per km, minimum Rs 30
  • Auto Rickshaw: Rs 9 per km, minimum Rs 30
  • Standard Motor Cars (non‑luxury): Rs 14 per km, minimum Rs 75
  • Luxury A/C Cars (Bolero, Neo, Ertiga, etc.): Rs 16 per km, minimum Rs 85
  • Premium Luxury Cars (Scorpio, XUV 500, Innova, etc.): Rs  19 per km, minimum Rs 100

Officials said the revision reflects current market conditions and is designed to avoid disputes in travel allowance claims.

By setting clear rates, the government hopes to reinforce structured governance and accountability in official travel expenses.
