Odisha Govt Clears Rs 10K Crore Supplementary Budget for FY 2025–26

The Odisha government has approved a supplementary budget exceeding Rs 10,000 crore for the financial year 2025–26. The proposal was cleared during a Council of Ministers meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on November 24.

The winter session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to begin on November 27 with a historic address by President Droupadi Murmu.

Chief Minister Majhi, who also holds the Finance portfolio, will present the supplementary budget in the House on November 28.

The budget preparation followed a detailed review of departmental expenditures, bank balances, and centrally sponsored schemes. It also considered funds received from the Centre, current spending, and projected inflows until March 2026.

In the previous financial year 2024–25, the state had introduced a supplementary budget of Rs 12,156 crore, which included Rs 10,155 crore for government programs and Rs 1,685 crore for administrative expenses.

Officials said the new allocation is aimed at addressing emerging fiscal needs while supporting ongoing development initiatives across Odisha.
