Odisha Govt Cancels Land Allotments of Idle Industries
The Odisha government has intensified its crackdown on industrial units that failed to utilise allotted land for operations.
In a decisive move, authorities issued show‑cause notices to 25 industries and cancelled land allotments of 267 units.
Among these, seven industries faced outright cancellation, while 81 cases are now under Encroachment Under Order (EUO) proceedings.
Five cases remain pending in court. Out of 914 closed industries, IDCO has already issued notices to 665 units under its regulations.
Industries Minister Sampad Swain emphasised that the government will continue strict monitoring to ensure land resources are used productively.
He warned that non‑compliant industries will face cancellation and legal action, reinforcing the state’s commitment to industrial accountability and sustainable development.
