Odisha Govt Bans Monday Meetings, Focus on Grievance Redressal
Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to strengthen public accountability, the Odisha government has directed all departments to refrain from holding official meetings on Mondays.
Instead, the day will be dedicated exclusively to hearing and resolving citizens’ grievances.
The directive, issued by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, emphasizes prioritizing public complaints over routine administrative work.
Officials believe this step will streamline governance, improve service delivery, and enhance public trust in government institutions.
Additionally, departments have been instructed to conduct monthly reviews of flagship projects on the third Saturday of every month.
This measure aims to monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and ensure effective implementation of key initiatives.
By restructuring the weekly schedule, the government hopes to create a more responsive system that addresses citizens’ concerns promptly while maintaining oversight of developmental programs.
