
Odisha govt approves 19 investment proposals worth Rs.4,515 crore to create 8,200 jobs
Bhubaneswar, Aug 20 (UNI) The Odisha Government today approved 19 new investment proposals worth Rs 4,515 crore to be set up across eight districts, generating nearly 8,200 employment opportunities.
As Odisha moves towards its vision of Samruddha Odisha by 2036, the State Government under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is accelerating industrial growth with an emphasis on inclusivity and balanced regional development.
The approvals came at the 139th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
According to official sources, the spread of investments across diverse regions will help ensure that economic growth is accompanied by job creation, stronger local economies, and equitable industrialisation.
The new projects reflect Odisha’s twin focus—strengthening traditional sectors such as steel, infrastructure, and tourism, while promoting sunrise sectors like green energy, electric vehicles,
data centres, bio-fuels, and pharmaceuticals.
In the Green Energy sector,INOX Solar Ltd will set up a 5 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assembly plant in Dhenkanal with an investment of Rs.. 283 crore.
Jindal Stainless Ltd will establish a Green Hydrogen manufacturing unit of 1,500 Nm³/hr in Jajpur with an investment of Rs 90 crore.
A Raipur-based company will establish a 2 GW solar cell manufacturing unit in Ganjam at a cost of Rs 750 crore.
In the Waste Management, Gravita India Ltd will invest Rs.. 350 crore in a recycling unit in Angul for manufacturing refined lead, alloys, and PP granules.
Starcaps Global LLP will set up a pharmaceutical unit in Khordha with an investment of Rs.80 crore.
Padma Hospitality Pvt Ltd will invest Rs.. 59.91 crore in a three-star hotel in Jagatsinghpur, SNM Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd will develop a four-star hotel and resort in Jagatsinghpur with Rs 92.32
crore and Orissa Stevedores Ltd will set up a five-star hotel in Paradip with an investment of Rs.211 crore.
In the Bio-Fuels, Vibrant Spirits Pvt Ltd will establish a compressed biogas unit in Sundargarh with an investment of Rs.50 crore while in the Steel & Allied Industries,Betabuilds Technologies Pvt Ltd will set up a steel processing unit in Sundargarh at Rs. 131.55 crore.
Konark Ispat Ltd will expand its Jharsuguda unit with a rolling mill, pellet plant, captive power plant, DRI plant, and billet plant, at an investment of Rs.990 crore.
Shree Jagannath Carriers Pvt Ltd will develop a logistics park and warehousing facility in Angul at Rs.111.90 crore and Sapient Resources Pvt Ltd will set up a 2×3 MTPA coal washery in Angul with
An investment of Rs. 70 crore.
In the EV sector, Sanaka Auto Corp Ltd will invest Rs.3. 00 crore in an EV manufacturing plant in Khordha with a capacity of 10,000 units per year.
In Data & IT Infrastructure, Shreetech Data Ltd will develop a hyperscale data centre in Khordha with an investment of Rs.. 501 crore while West Edge Data Centres Pvt Ltd will establish a data centre and satellite internet services unit in Khordha with an investment of Rs. 50.50 crore.
Official sources further said the Elixir of East – The Artisan Distillery LLP will invest Rs. 93.65 crore in a spirit manufacturing unit in Khordha and Associated Alcohols & Breweries Ltd will set up a 200 KLPD grain-based distillery with IMFL bottling in Khordha at a cost of Rs. 300 crore.
The projects cleared in the SLSWCA meeting reaffirm the State Government’s commitment to job creation, value addition, and balanced regional growth.
