Odisha Governor urges swift implementation of social welfare projects

Bhubaneswar, Sep 11 (UNI) Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati today directed officials to expedite the execution of various social welfare schemes and ensure that their benefits reach the grassroots.
On the concluding day of his four-day district tour, the Governor reviewed developmental projects in Koraput and Malkangiri districts at Koraput.
He urged bankers to facilitate loans to beneficiaries of government schemes with a spirit of social service.

Dr. Kambhampati also assessed the law and order situation, including Maoist activities, organised crime, NDPS cases, and other related issues.

He reviewed the progress of key railway projects in the region, such as the Jeypore–Malkangiri, Jeypore–Pandurangapuram via Bhadrachalam, and Jeypore–Nabarangpur lines.

The Governor examined the implementation of major social welfare and development programs, including the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Mudra Yojana, National Edible Oil Mission, Odisha Livelihood Mission, Forest Rights Act, Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana, and PM Janman Yojana.

He interacted with Mudra Yojana beneficiaries and advised bankers to prioritise youth and first-time entrepreneurs when sanctioning loans under the scheme.

Among those present at the meeting were Malkangiri MLA Narasingha Madkami, Chitrakonda MLA Mangu Khilla, Pottangi MLA Ram Chandra Kadam, Koraput MLA Raghuram Machha, Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra, and Laxmipur MLA Pabitra Saunta. Senior district officials from Various departments, along with representatives from NHAI and BSNL, also attended.
