Odisha Governor urges ORS trainees to serve with dedication and insight
Bhubaneswar, Aug 1 (UNI) Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati today advised the 2022 batch of Odisha Revenue Service (ORS) trainees to reflect on their responsibilities and remain committed to serving the public with sincerity and purpose.
Interacting with 83 ORS officer trainees at the New Abhishek Hall on the Raj Bhavan premises, the Governor encouraged them to actively enroll in welfare schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), for which they are eligible.
He noted that when well-informed citizens participate in such schemes, it builds public trust and promotes wider adoption.
During individual interactions with each trainee, Governor Kambhampati emphasized the importance of a comprehensive understanding of various welfare schemes initiated by both the State and Central governments.
“A proper understanding of these schemes will help you guide the public more effectively,” he remarked.
He further suggested that the faculty of the Revenue Officers’ Training Institute prepare a handbook detailing major welfare schemes, to be distributed among trainees during their course.
He also requested a personal copy of the proposed handbook.
Highlighting the key responsibilities of revenue officers—such as land record management, dispute resolution, and implementation of welfare schemes—the Governor reminded the young officers that governance is ultimately about serving people.
“As young officers, always remember that administration is not just about rules and files—it is, above all, about people,” he told the trainees.
