Bhubaneswar, June 24 (UNI) Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati will soon write to all Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in the state,
urging them to adopt tuberculosis (TB) patients, sponsor nutritional kits, and promote awareness campaigns in their respective constituencies.
The Governor also announced that similar appeals will be sent to university vice-chancellors, faculty members, social organisations, and philanthropists, encouraging them to actively support the fight against TB by adopting patients and providing nutritional assistance.
Chairing a high-level review meeting on the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday, Dr Kambhampati highlighted the importance of community participation and collective responsibility in eliminating tuberculosis and achieving the national target set under the campaign.
As part of efforts to inspire broader public engagement, the Governor announced that Raj Bhavanwill provide POSHAN (nutrition) kits to 100 TB patients.
“To motivate and raise awareness, Raj Bhavan will begin by distributing POSHAN kits to 100 TB patients,” Dr. Kambhampati said.
He stressed that eradicating TB requires more than just government initiatives—it demands a united societal effort involving individuals, institutions, and civil society at all levels.
