Odisha Governor Praises Sainik School’s Role in Shaping Future Leaders

Bhubaneswar, April 21 – Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Monday laid strong emphasis on sensitising students to critical contemporary issues such as climate change, digital responsibility, national security, gender equality, and social justice.

Speaking at the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony of Sainik School, Bhubaneswar, the Governor said, “It is essential to sensitise students about these pressing concerns. We must ensure that our young minds grow up not only as achievers but also as compassionate individuals committed to building a better world.”

He encouraged students to embrace high aspirations, saying, “Dream big, work hard, stay grounded, and never stop striving for excellence.”

Reflecting on the significance of the event, Dr. Kambhampati said, “This is a day of celebration and pride—for the students who have excelled, the parents who have nurtured them, and the school that continues to shape future leaders of our nation.”

He congratulated prize winners for their achievements in academics, sports, co-curricular activities, and discipline, calling their awards milestones toward greater accomplishments.

Commending the school, he said Sainik Schools were envisioned to prepare young minds for a career in the armed forces while instilling values like patriotism, discipline, integrity, and leadership. “This institution has upheld that vision with pride, producing distinguished officers, civil servants, and responsible citizens,” he noted.

He also praised the faculty, staff, and parents for their commitment to student development and highlighted the enduring bond between the school and its alumni.

In today’s fast-changing world, the Governor said, schools must equip students not just with academic knowledge but also with moral clarity, physical fitness, and civic awareness.

He expressed confidence that guided by the school’s motto—Seva, Kartavya, Gyan, Veerta—students would continue to make the nation proud.

The programme also featured addresses by State Chief Election Commissioner, Odisha, Madhusudan Padhi, Major General Sudhakar Jee, VSM (Retd.), and Niranjan Khuntia. The Principal of the school, Colonel Balu Bharath, delivered the vote of thanks.
