Odisha Governor Pays Tribute to Vajpayee on Good Governance Day 2025

Bhubaneswar, December 25: Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati commemorated the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee by highlighting his enduring contributions to India’s growth and governance.

Speaking at the Good Governance Day celebrations at Abhishek Hall in Lok Bhavan, the Governor described Vajpayee’s tenure as a transformative era marked by infrastructure expansion, rural development, and inclusive policies.

He praised landmark initiatives such as the Golden Quadrilateral project and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), which revolutionised connectivity across highways and villages alike.

The Governor also recalled Vajpayee’s vision for long‑term projects like river interlinking, noting his own role as a member of the dedicated task force.

Dr Kambhampati lauded Vajpayee as a statesman and eloquent orator who transcended party lines, leaving behind a legacy of inclusive development and good governance that continues to inspire the nation.

Floral tributes were offered at the event, attended by senior officials, including Commissioner‑cum‑Secretary Smt. Rupa Roshan Sahu and staff from Lok Bhavan.
