Odisha Governor Leads 2027 Census Self‑Enumeration, Urges Full Public Participation
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati set the tone for the 2027 National Census by completing his self‑enumeration on the opening day of the nationwide exercise.
The Governor emphasised that the census is a vital national task, forming the foundation for effective planning, inclusive growth, and equitable development.
Calling on every Odia household to participate, he stressed that no family should be left out of the process. “Active involvement will strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state,” he said.
The Governor’s initiative was witnessed by Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, Director of the Odisha Census Directorate, and Chanchal Rana, Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.
Odisha joined the nationwide self‑enumeration drive that began across India on April 1, 2026, marking a significant step toward comprehensive data collection for the country’s future planning.
