
Odisha Governor Champions Innovation and Youth Leadership at OUTR’s 4th Foundation Day
Bhubaneswar, Oct 8 — Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati called upon students to lead India’s innovation journey during the 4th Foundation Day celebrations of Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR).
In his keynote address, the Governor emphasised the need to move beyond “Make in India” toward “Design in India” and “Innovate for the World,” urging students to harness education for sustainable and self-reliant development.
Dr. Kambhampati praised OUTR’s rapid evolution into a hub of creativity and excellence, commending its holistic approach across engineering, planning, architecture, management, and research.
He spotlighted the university’s forward-thinking curricula in artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing, and semiconductor technology, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Highlighting Odisha’s emerging role in India’s semiconductor revolution, the Governor referenced the state’s pioneering efforts in hosting the country’s first commercial compound semiconductor fabrication facility and advanced packaging unit. “The future of AI and semiconductors lies in the capable hands of our students,” he stated.
The event also featured addresses by MLA Babu Singh, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal, and Dean Prof. Achyuta Nanda Acharya. Registrar Ashish Kumar Jena delivered the vote of thanks.
The Governor inaugurated the Digital Manufacturing Excellence Centre and felicitated meritorious students, reinforcing OUTR’s commitment to academic excellence and technological leadership.
