Odisha Governor Calls on JNU Alumni to Mentor Youth and Drive State’s Development
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati underscored the transformative role of alumni associations in shaping the future of society during the annual conference of the JNU Odisha Alumni Association.
He urged alumni to actively mentor the younger generation, combining their experience and vision to guide youth toward innovation and nation‑building.
The Governor praised Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) for its legacy of academic excellence, critical thinking, and social responsibility.
He highlighted the diverse achievements of JNU alumni across education, public service, politics, science, media, literature, and diplomacy, noting their contributions as both personal milestones and acts of service to the nation.
Dr Kambhampati described alumni associations as bridges between past and future, fostering collaboration and inspiration.
He called on Odisha’s alumni to contribute to the state’s growth by motivating youth and finding creative solutions to pressing challenges.
The event was attended by First Lady Smt. Jayashree Kambhampati, Odisha Chief Information Commissioner Manoj Kumar Parida, and OUAT Vice‑Chancellor Dr Pravat Kumar Roul.
Association President Sangram Keshari Mohapatra delivered the welcome address, while General Secretary Dr Manas Ranjan Nanda proposed the vote of thanks. A souvenir of the JNU Odisha Alumni Association was also released.
