Odisha Government Spurs Higher Education Growth with New Universities and Colleges
The Odisha government has announced a major push in higher and technical education through its latest budget.
Four new universities and two engineering colleges are set to be established across the state, marking a significant expansion of academic infrastructure.
Paradip and Bolangir will each host new engineering colleges, while Jagatsinghpur will see the creation of a greenfield university, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the region.
Three other universities are also planned to strengthen Odisha’s higher education landscape.
Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain has directed officials to fast-track administrative and legal procedures to ensure timely implementation.
He emphasised that these initiatives will transform education in the districts, create opportunities for youth, and reinforce Odisha’s position as a hub for academic excellence.
This expansion reflects the government’s commitment to empowering students, boosting skill development, and aligning education with the state’s long-term growth vision.
