Odisha Government Launches Collectorate Modernisation Drive
The Odisha government has unveiled a major infrastructure initiative to modernise Collectorate buildings across all districts, aiming to streamline administrative services and improve public delivery.
Officials have finalised plans to construct new offices based on a unified model design and estimate. Each Collectorate will house the Headquarter Sub-Collector’s office, ensuring consistency across districts.
Districts have been categorised into three groups—large, medium, and small—based on population and administrative needs.
Large districts will receive Collectorate buildings on 1.7 lakh sq. ft. of land, medium districts on 1.4 lakh sq. ft., and small districts on 1 lakh sq. ft.
In addition, the government has approved the construction of a ten-storey Special Circuit House in Bhubaneswar, equipped with a gym, library, and one-BHK and two-BHK accommodations for visiting dignitaries and officials.
A new Revenue & RDC building in Cuttack has also been cleared.
The meeting, chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue & Disaster Management Department, stressed timely execution and strict adherence to the model plan.
This initiative is expected to modernise Odisha’s administrative infrastructure and enhance efficiency in public service delivery.
