Odisha Government Forms Special Committee to Address Malkangiri Issues

The Odisha government has constituted a 16-member special committee to resolve long-pending issues in Malkangiri district.

The panel, chaired by the Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary, will focus on land disputes, departmental challenges, and administrative bottlenecks that have hindered development in the region.

The Revenue & Disaster Management Department will act as the nodal agency, while representatives from key departments—including General Administration, Home, Agriculture, Police, Water Resources, Panchayati Raj, Higher Education, SC/ST Development, MSME, and School & Mass Education—will contribute to the committee’s work.

District officials, including the Collector and Superintendent of Police, will also be part of the panel to ensure ground-level coordination.

The committee is mandated to meet regularly and submit reports to the government every two months, offering practical recommendations for timely solutions.

This initiative underscores the state’s commitment to strengthening governance and accelerating development in Malkangiri, a district often highlighted for its unique challenges and strategic importance.
