Bhubaneswar, May 29, ( OT Webdesk)– The Odisha government has taken strict disciplinary action against multiple teachers and principals of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs) following reports of widespread exam malpractice in the CBSE Board Examination 2025.
The crackdown follows shocking results from several schools, particularly in Bargarh district, where only 300 out of 1,185 students passed with grace marks, while the remaining 885 failed outright.
The government responded swiftly, suspending five teachers, including two principals, and issuing show-cause notices to 33 others.
In a formal statement, the Department of School & Mass Education reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy on exam misconduct, promising further investigations and stricter measures if necessary.
Officials emphasised that ensuring fairness in academic assessments is a top priority, particularly for institutions like OAVs, which were founded to provide quality education in rural and tribal regions.
The incident has raised concerns regarding monitoring and accountability within these institutions, with education experts urging the government to implement more rigorous checks to prevent future violations.
Further actions are expected as the investigation continues.
