Odisha Government Announces Key IAS Appointments

Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: The Odisha government has announced significant changes in the state bureaucracy, assigning new responsibilities to senior IAS officers to strengthen governance and ensure continuity in administration.

Chithra Arumugam, IAS (RR-1995), currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary of the Labour & ESI Department, has been entrusted with additional charge as Additional Chief Secretary of the Science & Technology Department.

She has also been appointed as Director General of Training Coordination at the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Bhubaneswar.

This move comes following the retirement of G. Mathivathanan, IAS. Her appointment is temporary until further notice.

In another development, Saroj Kumar Sethi, IAS (SCS-2012), presently Chief General Manager (Land) at IDCO, has been promoted to Additional Secretary in the Industries Department.

He will continue to hold his additional charge as CGM (Land) at IDCO, ensuring continuity in land management for industrial projects.

These appointments were issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department, reflecting the government’s strategy to position experienced officers in crucial roles for effective administration.
