Odisha Government Announces Key Bureaucratic Transfers: Siona Mishra and Saroj Behera Reassigned

In a strategic move aimed at streamlining administrative efficiency, the General Administration & Public Grievance Department of Odisha has issued a formal notification announcing the transfer of two senior officers.

Smt. Siona Mishra, OAS (SAG), who previously served as Secretary of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has been appointed as Additional Commissioner, Excise, in Cuttack.

Her reassignment is expected to bring seasoned leadership to the Excise Department, which plays a crucial role in regulating and monitoring alcohol-related activities across the state.

Meanwhile, Sri Saroj Kumar Behera, OAS (S), currently Joint Secretary in the ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backwards Classes Welfare Department, has been posted as the new Secretary of BSE, Odisha. His appointment comes under foreign service terms and conditions, as outlined in the official notification.

These transfers reflect the state government’s ongoing efforts to optimise talent deployment across departments and ensure effective governance.
