Odisha Extends Ration Card e-KYC Deadline to February 2026 | Big Relief for Beneficiaries

Bhubaneswar, Dec 31: In a significant move to safeguard food security for thousands of families, the Odisha government has extended the deadline for completing the e-KYC process for ration card holders by two months.

The earlier deadline of December 31, 2025, will now continue until the end of February 2026.

Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra announced the extension, stressing that no eligible beneficiary should lose access to subsidised food grains under the Public Distribution System (PDS).

“As of now, 96 per cent of beneficiaries have completed their e-KYC. Only 4 per cent remain, and we want to give them ample time to finish the process without disruption in ration supply,” Patra said.

Pending cases are reportedly higher in Cuttack and certain coastal districts. Beneficiaries can complete the process at fair price shops or designated centres, with Aadhaar authentication serving as the backbone of the system.

The extension comes alongside the distribution of nearly 8 lakh new ration cards to eligible families in recent months, reflecting the government’s commitment to streamlining the PDS and eliminating irregularities.
