Odisha Extends PUCC Deadline to March 2026

The Odisha government has announced an extension of the Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) deadline until March 2026, offering vehicle owners additional time to comply with emission norms.

Transport Minister Bibhuti Jena confirmed the decision, citing the need to ease the burden on citizens facing long queues and technical delays at testing centres.

The move comes after widespread demand from motorists concerned about fines and fuel restrictions linked to expired certificates.

Officials emphasised that enforcement will resume after the new deadline, making it mandatory for all vehicles to secure valid PUCCs to avoid penalties.

To address the surge in demand, the Transport Department plans to expand testing facilities in major cities.

Minister Jena urged citizens not to wait until the last moment, stressing that pollution control is a collective responsibility.

The extension reflects the government’s commitment to balancing environmental safety with public convenience, while encouraging compliance to reduce vehicular emissions across the state.
