Odisha Equips 102 New Higher Secondary Principals Through Leadership Orientation

Bhubaneswar: In a strategic move to strengthen academic leadership across upgraded higher secondary schools, the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE), Odisha, hosted a one-day orientation programme for 102 newly appointed principals and Additional District Education Officers (ADEOs) from 17 districts.

Held at the Krushi Bhawan Auditorium, the event focused on enhancing institutional governance, academic quality, and alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The programme featured key insights from senior officials, including Smt. Subhashree Nanda (Additional Secretary, School & Mass Education), Sri Mrunalkanti Dash (CHSE Chairman), Sri Birendra Karakara (Director, Secondary Education), and Smt. Niyati Patnaik (DHSE Director). Speakers emphasised the importance of skill-based education, collaborative leadership, and student self-reliance.

Technical sessions covered e-Admission via the SAMS portal, fee structures, career counselling, scholarship management, Samagra Shiksha implementation, school administration, self-defence training, and curriculum planning.

Joint Director Sasmita Mali conducted the programme, with Deputy Director Madhusudan Mallik delivering the vote of thanks.

This initiative marks a significant step toward empowering school leaders to drive educational excellence across Odisha.
