Odisha Emerges as India’s Most Attractive Destination for MSMEs
Bhubaneswar, Nov 30 — Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has declared that the state has become India’s most attractive destination for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), positioning itself as the “MSME Gateway of Eastern India.”
Speaking at the valedictory session of the Odisha Industry Conclave 2025, organised by Laghu Udyog Bharati, the Chief Minister highlighted the pivotal role of MSMEs in driving inclusive growth and innovation.
He noted that projects are now being approved within a single day through the Go Swift Single Window portal, while Odisha has allocated 6.1% of its GDP — the highest in the country — for infrastructure development this year.
Majhi praised Laghu Udyog Bharati for supporting over 980 industrial units and announced the organisation’s plan to open a dedicated office in Bhubaneswar to strengthen industry-government collaboration.
He also showcased Odisha’s success stories, from Pipili appliqué and Raghurajpur pattachitra to Sambalpur textiles, Ganjam coir, and women-led self-help groups exporting globally.
The Chief Minister underscored the transformative impact of the Subhadra Yojana, which has already created 17 lakh “Lakhpati Didis” by turning mothers into entrepreneurs.
He reiterated that “Viksit Odisha, Viksit Bharat” is not just a slogan but a firm commitment to empowering small businesses and artisans.
MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallik added that Odisha is rapidly advancing by promoting Swadeshi products, empowering artisans, and strengthening local supply chains.
The conclave marked a significant step toward making Odisha a hub for industrialisation, innovation, and inclusive prosperity.
