Bhubaneswar, Nov 25: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the new head office of the Odisha Agro Industries Corporation (OAIC) at Satyanagar, Bhubaneswar.

The five‑storey, state‑of‑the‑art facility will be constructed at a cost of Rs 83.77 crore on 1.46 acres, with a built‑up area of over 16,500 sqm.

Designed to resemble Krushi Bhavan, the office will serve as a central hub for stakeholder engagement, farmer education, and progressive agricultural programs aligned with government schemes.

Speaking at the event, Singh Deo emphasised the role of the new office in fostering technical training, demonstrations of modern farming practices, and sustainable irrigation initiatives.

The facility will also provide dedicated spaces for farmers, manufacturers, and experts to interact, hosting workshops and technology showcases to promote advanced agricultural equipment.

Agriculture Secretary Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee outlined OAIC’s mandate, which includes subsidised sales of farm machinery, fertilisers, pesticides, and irrigation solutions.

He stressed the corporation’s goal of expanding the adoption of bio-fertilisers, animal feeds, and modern equipment to strengthen Odisha’s agricultural infrastructure.
