Odisha Deputy CM Warns Against Fraudsters Misusing His Name
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo has issued a stern warning after reports surfaced of fraudsters misusing his name to collect money.
A case has been registered at the Cyber Crime police station, with investigators tracing a phone number linked to the scam.
Singhdeo has directed police to arrest the culprits immediately, stressing that such fraudulent activity will not be tolerated.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant, verify details before transferring money, and report suspicious calls or identity misuse to the police.
Singhdeo, who also holds the portfolios of Agriculture, Farmers’ Empowerment, and Energy, emphasised that exploiting the name of a public office for financial gain is a serious offence.
Authorities assured strong action against those defaming public office and cheating citizens.
