Bhubaneswar, June 10, (OT Webdesk): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the newly constructed office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Bhubaneswar today. The state-of-the-art facility, built over 2,272 square meters with an investment of ₹7.80 crore, aims to enhance law enforcement efficiency and public service delivery.
During the inaugural event, CM Majhi emphasised the importance of modern infrastructure in strengthening police administration. The facility includes accessibility features such as ramps for differently-abled individuals, a cyber cell, an integrated control room, and other key departments like legal services and passport verification. A conference hall and training rooms are also part of the new setup.
Additionally, the Chief Minister handed over 425 two-wheelers to investigative officers across various police stations under the Commissionerate Police jurisdiction. This initiative is expected to improve mobility and response times for law enforcement personnel.
CM Majhi highlighted the government’s commitment to bolstering security across the state. He noted that earlier in March, 14 new police stations were inaugurated, costing ₹42 crore, reinforcing the infrastructure for law and order.
Several dignitaries attended the event, including MLAs Babu Singh, Ananta Narayan Jena, and Sushanta Kumar Raut, along with Mayor Sulochana Das and senior police officials.
