Odisha CM Unveils ₹600 Cr ‘Samrudha Anganwadi Yojana’ in Budget 2026–27

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced the launch of the Samrudha Anganwadi Yojana while presenting the Odisha Budget 2026–27.

The scheme, with a proposed outlay of Rs 600 crore, aims to strengthen grassroots child development infrastructure by completing all pending and incomplete Anganwadi centres across the state.

Under the plan, each centre in non‑tribal areas will receive Rs 15 lakh, while those in tribal regions will be allotted Rs 20 lakh, acknowledging the unique challenges of remote locations.

The initiative is expected to enhance facilities for children and mothers, improve service delivery under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), and ensure uniform standards statewide.

The government has positioned this scheme as a cornerstone of its rural and tribal welfare strategy, reflecting its commitment to early childhood care, nutrition, and education.
