Odisha CM Resolves 91% Grievances, Portal Glitches Raise Concerns
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has addressed a significant portion of citizen concerns, with official data showing that 91% of grievances submitted over the past one and a half years have been resolved.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan informed the Assembly that out of 13,358 grievances received, 12,432 were successfully resolved.
The state’s Janasunani portal recorded a total of 14,41,832 grievances till November, with district officials resolving 13,07,253 cases. However, 1,34,579 complaints remain pending due to their complexity.
Opposition BJD’s Chief Whip Pramila Mallik raised concerns about delays in addressing grievances outside Bhubaneswar and criticised the poor functioning of the Janasunani portal, which she claimed often fails to open.
She demanded a detailed breakdown of complaints at block and tehsil levels and pressed the government to set a fixed timeframe for resolution.
Responding to the Opposition, Harichandan highlighted that joint hearings are being conducted across districts and suggested that MLA participation could accelerate the process.
The Assembly session underscored both the government’s success in grievance redressal and the challenges of ensuring accountability and efficiency at the grassroots level.
