Odisha CM Regularises Over 13,000 Junior Teachers, Full Benefits from 2026
Bhubaneswar: In a landmark decision, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced the regularisation of more than 13,000 schematic junior teachers across Odisha.
These educators, appointed during the 2023–24 academic year, will now be treated as regular employees from the date of their joining.
According to the announcement, teachers will receive notional benefits until December 31, 2025. From January 1, 2026, they will be entitled to full salaries and all service benefits applicable to regular government employees.
The move fulfils a key promise made by the Chief Minister and has been widely welcomed by the teaching community.
Educators across the state hailed the decision as a long‑awaited step that ensures financial stability, boosts morale, and strengthens the education system.
This policy shift is expected to have a significant impact on Odisha’s schooling framework, improving retention and motivation among teachers while reinforcing the government’s commitment to education reform.
