Odisha CM praises Brahma Kumaris’ 50-Year Journey of transforming lives
Bhubaneswar, Nov 17 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday lauded the Brahma Kumaris organisation for its remarkable contributions to stress management, emotional well-being, and helping millions overcome challenges such as depression and addiction.
Speaking at the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Bhubaneswar Brahma Kumaris Organisation, where he launched the campaign “Prosperous Odisha, Golden Odisha,” Majhi highlighted the group’s longstanding efforts in promoting women’s empowerment and strengthening social values.
He remarked that the Brahma Kumaris’ fifty-year journey is “not just a journey through time, but a journey of human awakening, spiritual elevation, and divine service.”
The Chief Minister emphasised that a spiritual lifestyle nurtures simplicity, humility, and responsible use of natural resources.
It also helps individuals regulate imbalanced desires—teachings widely spread across the world by Brahma Kumari Sister Shivani, whose dedication, he said, has earned her a special place in India’s spiritual domain.
Majhi expressed hope that the organisation would continue expanding globally, carrying the message of world peace from Mount Abu to New York, Nairobi, and London.
He also praised the Bhubaneswar branch for its strong role in this mission.
Highlighting the importance of Raja Yoga and meditation, he stated that these practices cultivate discipline and compassion—qualities essential for effective governance. When administration functions with empathy, he noted, public trust strengthens, reinforcing society’s moral foundation.
Drawing parallels with the Brahma Kumaris’ new initiative, the Chief Minister said the Government also envisions building a prosperous and developed Odisha by 2036.
Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, who attended the event, said the Brahma Kumaris have spent the last five decades beautifying society and guiding individuals toward peace and harmony.
The event was graced by Brahma Kumari Sister Shivani, Dr Banarasi Bhai, Shaktiraj Bhai, Geeta Didi of the Bhubaneswar branch, and Ekamra Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh.
