Odisha CM Orders Probe into Court Bomb Threats in Sambalpur, Cuttack, and Deogarh

Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has ordered a thorough investigation into bomb threats reported at district-level courts in Sambalpur, Cuttack, and Deogarh.

Expressing deep concern, Majhi convened urgent discussions with the Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), and the Director General of Police.

The Chief Minister directed senior officials to identify the culprits and deploy senior officers to the affected courts.

He emphasised strict surveillance measures and instructed authorities to gather detailed ground-level intelligence to uncover the motive behind the threats.

Majhi underscored that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the government’s top priority, warning that no complacency will be tolerated in matters of public safety.

He described the incident as “extremely serious” and urged swift action to restore public confidence.

Later in the evening, Majhi is scheduled to chair a high-level meeting to review the situation and assess the progress of the investigation.
