Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Condoles Death of Five Police Personnel in Jharsuguda Accident

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of five police personnel in a road accident in Jharsuguda.

The accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when a speeding truck collided head‑on with a Bolero PCR van in front of Jharsuguda Sadar Police Station.

The impact left the police vehicle mangled, killing five officers instantly. Two others sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Preliminary reports suggest reckless driving by the truck driver as the cause of the crash.

Local residents and fellow police officers rushed to the site, assisting in rescue operations and recovering the bodies from the wreckage.
