Odisha CM Majhi: State Ready to Face Global Crisis

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has assured that Odisha is fully prepared to handle challenges arising from the ongoing global crisis, particularly disruptions linked to West Asia.

Following a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Majhi emphasised that the state government is closely monitoring supply chains to prevent shortages and safeguard essential commodities.

He warned that strict action would be taken against hoarding and black marketing, urging citizens to remain calm and avoid panic buying.

Majhi also welcomed the Union government’s decision to reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel, describing it as a timely step to ease household burdens and stabilise the economy.

Highlighting the importance of Centre–state coordination, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that India, under PM Modi’s leadership, will successfully navigate global challenges.

Odisha’s proactive measures, he said, reflect the state’s commitment to ensuring supply stability and protecting public welfare amid uncertain international conditions.
