Odisha CM Majhi Calls Urgent Meeting on Middle East Conflict Impact

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has convened an urgent meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan today to assess the potential impact of the ongoing Middle East conflict on Odisha’s energy and essential commodity supply.

District collectors will join via video conferencing, alongside senior department officials, to review the situation at the ground level.

The agenda includes ensuring an uninterrupted supply of essential commodities, preventing black marketeering, and preparing contingency measures to address possible fuel shortages.

The Centre has already issued alerts regarding disruptions in petroleum and gas supplies. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged states to work collectively as “Team India” to mitigate the crisis.

CM Majhi has briefed the Prime Minister on Odisha’s preparedness and assured proactive steps to stabilise supplies and protect consumers from price hikes.

The state government is expected to announce a detailed roadmap after today’s meeting, focusing on safeguarding public interest and maintaining market stability.
